LAS VEGAS (AP) — An early morning blaze gutted several businesses in a strip mall a few blocks east of the Las Vegas Strip, but no injuries were reported, fire officials said Monday.

Passers-by reported the fire a little after 1 a.m. Monday at the shopping complex at Paradise and Flamingo roads, and Deputy Clark County Fire Chief Warren Whitney said firefighters arrived to find flames through the roof above a liquor store.

Flames spread through a common attic damaged at least five businesses, officials said.

Deputy Fire Chief Thomas Touchstone told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the liquor store, a dry cleaning business and a doughnut shop appeared to have been completely destroyed.

Touchstone said more than 50 firefighters battled the fire at the scene set among several mid-sized hotels across Flamingo Road from Clark County Fire Station 18 and the Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino.
